My best mate and I went off to the camping and caravan show yesterday, she's a great camper, I like my comfort a bit more. But the show was great. The last time we went camping was when Indie was a few months old and we had a good time, but i think it would be soooo much better if we had a camper trailer, I've always hankered after one but yesterday i was drooling over them at the Jayco display. Am i sad or what  Does anyolne have one? |

Must admit since living here I've mentioned a few times getting a caravan, something I would never EVER have considered in the UK!!! I quite like the idea of hitching up, driving down south and having a few quiet days with the family. |

I think it's a bedroom popout jobby, but I'm not sure. They bought it second-hand not long before we left and I only saw it sitting in their driveway, not opened up. :dunno: I do know that they take it on various weekends to where they go gliding and think it's the best thing since sliced bread!! |

Yep - we went to a Camping and 4x4 show earlier in the year. It was like one massive toy shop! Some of the caravans / trailer tents were just unbelievable. Caravans also fitted with Airconditioning! |

when we went up to Monkey Mia we met a couple and their 2 kids who were travelling round Australia in their caravan. They started out from Townsville with a camper trailer and did the top end then sold the camper trailer and bought a caravan as the heat in the camper was too much. They were having the time of their lives, the kids were 8 and 18 monts and i don't think they could have given those kids a better experience, they had been places and done things that most of us will never do. Their caravan was great, with a double bed at one end, bunks tucked away at the other and a full living/dining/kitchen area, no making tables into beds or anything like that, oh and a shower and toilet too. Something else too, they were all always immaculate, her hair was always perfect and there wasn't a crease in sight......... unlike us (or more exactly... me) who wore my hair back for a week (didn't even take my hair dryer with me) and the kids looked as though they had slep in their clothes and we were in an apartment  |

The aircon was fab, it was roasting yesterday and i had the bub in her sling so we stopped off frequently in air conditioned caravans talking to salesmen just to stop her over heating!! You can see how some people get so into it though, you could spend, spend, spend what with all the gadgets and accessories. Caravanning aint for the old fogies here. |

Our friends had a fab Jayco caravan, it was massive but only because the beds popped out both ends so in effect you were only pulling the length of the main entertaining area. They did get peed off putting the beds out every night so every now and then if it was a quick stop they would just do the bed for the boys and they would sleep on the lounge. They also had a section that popped out from the side so it made the inside area massive. They sold it after using to travel around Oz for a year with a profit of $2k so well worth it  We had a bushtracker caravan when we first got here with all the bells and whistles and it was a great set up. We loved it and I did have a tear when we sold it :( I loved the fact we could just up and leave when ever we wanted to as we always had a home if needed....although we have started to collect far too much stuff to fill it now if we still had it  Forget the pop top ones though or look at the camper trailers if you are limited on places to store it. |
