As you probably know, we have our house on market as we are planning to move to Brisbane. We had our house open day this afternoon. I spent the whole of yesterday cleaning and decluttering, and again this morning spent ages putting scented candles in appropriate places and flowers etc. It had been advertised on realestate.com and also in the Age newspaper today. Guess what - only 3 people turned up  The agent wants to do it again next Saturday, so will have to do major clean up again. This could become my new weekend routine  I am not happy :( |

I dont know what it is, but we are constantly being told its a mistake to be moving to Brisbane (and mostly by people who have never lived there). Last night for example we were out with friends, one couple who live in Melbourne and another couple who were here for weekend from Sydney. They are all old school friends of Jason. They were telling us whole evening we are mad to move from Melbourne. I just dont get it, if any of them told me they were moving I would wish them luck and not try and change their minds. They are not the only ones either, the neighbours are constantly at it too, and I would have thought with the amount of noise we make, they would be delighted to see us gone. Now Jason and kids are saying they want to stay here. I feel like I am going mad, this is harder than moving from London to Australia ever was. I am totally confused now  |

You know what's right for you and gotta do what you gotta do - dont let other people influence you particularly, as you say, since none of them have ever been to Brissie anyway. Good luck with next week's open day :flowers: |

We are not moving because of the weather, but I am looking forward to milder winters
 I put on another thread somewhere the reasons we are moving, replying to Soapy, but cant find it now. Its not that we dont like Melbourne, but feel we would get more for our money in Brisbane with regards to house and I know prices are rising fast in Brissie but they are still better than Melbourne prices. We have visited friends in Brisbane a few times and really liked it and at the time when we made the decision to move things were not going well for us here in Melbourne, with regards to husbands job and other issues. We just thought why not move and try out Brisbane. But I am having major doubts now, husband has said he does not want to move but will do it if I insist, so putting all pressure on me and will blame me if it does not work out!!!! Older kids dont want to leave their friends so its just me and youngest who still want to go - maybe we will be going on our own  I think it will all work out fine when we eventually get there and settle down :) I hope so anyway :crossfingers: |

Life has a funny way of working things out for you Maybe your house wont sell because you're meant to stay in Melbourne so that will make your mind up Maybe it will sell quick so you can move and crack on with life in QLD Whatever the outcome, all things happen for a reason :flowers: |

Well one of the three people who came on Saturday, came back today for a second look around. I was up at 07.00 cleaning and chucking kids stuff into wardrobes. Bought flowers and nice fruit for the fruit bowl etc. I put the cats beds, litter trays and food bowls away in laundry cupboard and as the cats dont go outside and were nowhere to be seen, I thought they would be ok without litter tray for an hour or so - big mistake. House was looking great, scented candles were lit, soft music playing etc. Cats were sleeping in my sons wardrobe, so thought they would be fine and stay out of the way. I took dog out for a walk as soon as agent arrived. Came home 40 mins later, no sign of agents car, so knew viewing was finished. Walked in and smelt a horrible smell - bloody cat had done a big poo in middle of laundry floor! Have not heard from agent, so dont know whether the poo was there while viewer was in house or whether cat did it after they left (hoping for latter). Bloody cats, even they are conspiring against selling this house  |
