We have one of these mud wasps http://www.ento.csiro.au/Ecowatch/Primary/...chidae_wasp.htm who I call Muddy (original huh?!) We had one on our rental but didnt know it was a good thing, so knocked the nest off and it was full of paralysed spiders. Then I looked it up on the internet and felt SO guilty that we'd broken the nest... Luckily we have one building a nest under our eaves, they are funny looking things, I refer to them as flying Jack Russells as they appear quite large, but they are harmless and kind of cute just flying backwards and forwards with their mud. Anyone else got any beneficial insects in their gardens? |

I think she gets mud from the riverbank which is a short fly down the end of the road. |
