Telstra Home Phone Plans 22/6/06 TELSTRA today released the third of its three homeline pricing plans, as part of its new fixed-line strategy. Telstra's three new plans include monthly charges of up to $89.90. The most expensive plan, known as HomeLine Ultimate, includes unlimited local and STD calls for $89.90. HomeLine Together, which would cost customers $69.90 each month, includes local calls, but STD untimed calls are charged at 75 cents. The third plan released today is known as HomeLine Reach, which costs $49.90 a month and costs 10c an untimed local call and $1 an untimed STD call. They have taken notice of the VOIP options now becoming popular.... Still too high for me though, I think.... Normal Line rental is $29.94, and my Australian call costs are about $15pm, so about $45 in total. The Telstra $49.90 plan would cost me $58.90. It's getting closer though.... :) An interesting comparison would be my Feb bill, with 44 Interstate calls which Telstra used to charge at $2.50 each, and 46 local calls. Old Telstra bill would be: $147.64 Current Telstra line & VOIP totalled $ 48.89 New Telstra plan: $89.90 or $102.90 or $73.94 depending on which plan. |

Do you have any info on bottom-of-the-range packages? We probably make 5 calls per month; everything else is mobi to mobi. We pay about $33 pcm at the moment but is there anything cheaper (apart from not having a phone which is a definite option) |

Telstra HomeLine Budget plan $19.95pm with local calls at 30c each. All Telstra Plans at: http://www.telstra.com.au/phones/homeservi...comparisons.htm Actually I should switch over to the budget plan myself, as all my calls now go via VOIP. It'll save $7pm, equivalent to another 70 local/interstate calls. Edit: I just noticed I will actually save $10 per month by switching ! I'm doing it now :D |

I've moved over to Westnet's Lite User plan and we had our lowest bill yet - $46! Telstra are so expensive, every month our bill was around $100 mark and we dont use the phone a great deal as we tend to use MSN! I gave up with AAPT, you could never get through on the phone, and again our bills were around the $60 mark. |
