Had my first experience of the problems with living on other sides of the planet this morning when I was suddenly awoken by the screeching ringtone on my mobile. 'Who's f***** ringing at 4am' I though, then I seen the caller id and realised of course it was a call from Oz. All was okay though as I now have a job interview set up for my first Monday there, fingers crossed I will get a job offer pretty much straight away and get to earn some nice crisp Aussie dollars. It's just before 6 now and of course I didn't get back to sleep. So where else could I go but to the online paradise that is ABCDiamond Australia Forums! :D |

Good news about the interview, even if it was a bit early!
:D The most annoying thing we've found is that becuase we use our mobiles as alarm clocks we often get people sending texts in the middle of the night  Sometimes they are easily forgiven (eh Marco! :) ) but it can be a bit annoying if it's something trivial... |

What can I say?? :P Most 'normal' people have a proper alarm clock! Aaah - I see where I went wrong. Normal. When we were sorting out our land purchase - the conveyancer rang me at 3am and after a few minutes of groggy conversation he twigged - hey, there's a time difference between Oz and the UK! Best of luck with the job interview Manx. :thumb: |

You mean there are TWO 4:00's each day !!! Well done on getting the interview ;) Marco, your phone call with the conveyancer reminded me of when my UK bank manager rang me, he obviously didnt dial it himself as he didn't realise he was speaking to someone on the other side of the world at first :) Problem being that as I was half asleep, but happy with the news he gave me, when I jumped for joy I hit the spinning ceiling fan with my fingers, or should I say, the fan hit my fingers  |

I don't use mine as an alarm clock and thus Mrs Manx was smashing hell out of the clock radio when the phone was ringing at 4am!!! :D |

You know that if you are using your mobile phone as an alarm clock you can turn it off (after setting the alarm obviously). It will wake itself up to do the alarm (and then shut itself off again). This way it doesn't ring/beep in the night when you get a call or txt. It also conserves battery time. You might want to test it out first just to satisfy yourself that it'll work. A :) |
