Hi Guys

Some advice please.

We are sure we will need the use of a Laptop when we arrive, do you think we should wait until we arrive in Oz to buy one and how much do they cost, or should we buy it here in the UK.

We leave the UK in 15 days so time is running out.

Thanks in advance of any replys.

Some Dell prices here: http://www1.ap.dell.com/content/products/c...c=au&l=en&s=dhs
Start at $998 for the Dell Inspiron 1300

HP Pavilion DV5128TX starts at $1,991 1.66Ghz, 80gb HD, DVD Burner, 15.4" Widescreen with XP Pro

I have a link on http://www.britzinoz.com/info/computers.htm for alternatives.

Main advantage of buying locally is the warranty.

You have to be careful if you are buying goods to bring with you. If you bring in an item less than 12 months old you could be liable for import tax, if the customs guys are being picky.

We have a toshbia laptop bought from Currys in the UK and it comes with a global warranty. Not sure what other brands offer, but this certainly will cover us if anything goes wrong in Oz.
