Can you imagine the uproar if this was brought in here? All those people up in arms over the fact they cant waste gallons of drinking water on their lawns every day?!

I always wondered "so how come all those hot countries can cope with it and the UK can't?" - until I looked at the relative populations.

Quite scary really how densely populated the South of the UK actually is.

You may find this interesting....

Each Londoner currently uses 156 litres of water every day, which is higher than the national average of 150 litres and is also higher than most other north European cities. Berlin and Copenhagen use just under 120 litres a day.

London receives less rainfall per head than cities like Madrid and Istanbul.
Londons average annual rainfall is just below 650mm

The average annual rainfall for three QLD areas is:
Coolangatta - 1438.6mm,
Brisbane Airport - 1185.4mm and
Ipswich - 853.6mm

The average household Water consumption in Brisbane is 550 litres per day

Not sure how many people an average household consists of, so can't do a comparison exactly, to the London figure of water per person.

And the thing is they're building and building, especially near where we lived in Kent, but the water supply cant cope - craziness!
