Although i've not contributed to the threads, quite shy, I've probably read everybodys thread. Well here's ours. Yippee we've got our visa today. OMG can't believe it, I thought we may have had a problem with our medicals as both my parents have passed away and had diabetes, stroke, heart disease, and I'm overweight, but no we've had the telephone call today to say yes we've got the visa. What a great feeling, now we've got to sell the house, sort out if were shipping stuff over (who to use), how to transfer money etc. Were hoping to go to Melbourne, my husband is a carpenter/joiner so if any of you no of any jobs going or sites he should be looking at on the internet please let me no. Were thinking of living in or around Aspendale, Edithvale. To be honest have'nt really got a clue where were going as we've never been to Melbourne, so any tips on schooling for a soon to be 7 year old, good areas to live and areas to avoid, any help in general would be appreciated. I'm so excited, not bothered that apparently its cold in Melbourne today. I live in Manchester UK its normally always cold today be an exception with the weather at a lovely 19c Ange x :D |

CONGRATULATIONS ANGE!!! :excited: Can't help you with Melbourne, I'm afraid, but we do have several members who should be able to help out there. Well done, again, on getting the visa through. If you've not already done so, how about posting your timeline in the 'Timelines' post which is pinned at the top of this forum? :thumb: |

Well done, that really is the easy bit. We have only 6 weeks till we go and so far the hardest part definitely is winding up your life over here before moving over there. |

Thanks for all your congratulations. OMG have I had the hangover from hell today. Reality hit me this morning that we've really got our visa, got so much to do now its unreal. Manxfamily I've followed your threads, which have been really useful to us. Was you also on the www.moneysavingexpert.com forum as well. I've decided I must drink more beer to get into the aussie spirit of things. |
