So how are we getting on I hear you ask.

Well, things are moving pretty quickly now, 6 weeks today we fly out. Claire has started cancelling utilities such as Sky TV, phone lines etc for the end of the month. We are sleeping on mattresses as the beds and most of the furniture has been sold. Everything we are bringing has been shipped.

We have 3 more weeks in our rental house, and to be honest I can’t wait to get out and pity the people who move in after us. Especially once winter comes round again, cold is an understatement. Something which we will not have to worry about too much from next month!

After that we have 3 weeks in my parents house which could be interesting as they are just about to move house, into a 2 BEDROOM BUNGALOW!

On the workfront I have my replacement insitu as does Claire, and both of us really can’t be bothered with it anymore, very much on a windown. I have a week booked off at the start of June and then I go back in for my last two weeks, which will be really difficult i’m sure. I’m still working weekends at the local pub, only another 4 weeks of that. Can’t wait to have a weekend off again. On the other side I have a couple of interviews lined up with employers when we arrive, and I have started applying for jobs on a daily basis now, I’m sure this will pay off and I shall get something pretty quickly then we can start thinking about buying beds again.

The kids are excited about the move and can’t wait. Our eldest has started her GCSE final exams, her last official day at school is on Friday. The other two are also on a wind down and ready to move.

The sun is shining here now on the Island and I really am feeling in the mood for Australia, it’s either going to be a long six weeks or it’s going to fly. Bring it on, that’s what I say.

See you all soon.

:applause: Good to hear from you, Stu!

It sounds like it's all getting to the very exciting stages now. :thumb: Have you decided on which part of Brissie you're going to yet?

You are joking aren't you  It is bloody cold here at night and first thing in the morning now and will only get worse for the next few months :ph43r:

Good luck with it all though :D

Thats why I said 'too much' and not at all. Got to better than living here; but I'll bring a jumper all the same.

And PR we are definitely thinking of areas around the Sandgate area as the schools seem pretty good and we have already contacted them and set up meetings for when we arrive.

A jumper ? That's pushing it too far. ;)

It is beginnning to get cold(er) though. I have considered putting socks on a couple of times, and I've even started looking for my long trousers !!

My wife dug my long sleeve shirts out of storage, so they are ready and waiting, and a couple of things I've not seen for ages... mm what are they called.. ah yes, Sweatshirts. When you wear them in QLD you'll know why they where called that :D

It can feel cold at times though, especially once you are used to the normal weather here. It has been down to about 14 °C overnight, and I have heard the neighbours air con unit working overnight, to warm them up, but we haven't got that far yet. We only stopped using the ceiling fans overnight a few days ago :)

On TV this morning we saw a News presenter in Melbourne, well and truly wrapped up. We don't even have clothes like that up here !! :D It must get cold down there.

Sunny Gold Coast. It's beautiful during the day but once the sun goes down it cools down fast and first thing in the morning we are freezing (well not UK standards obviously) but have acclimatised far quicker than we thought possible.

Went out and bought two heaters for the girls bedrooms and they woke up with smiles on their faces because their rooms were "toasty" apparently :D

I really must get a couple of themometers one for in and one for out, just out of interest.

We really don't need to know about your internal temperatures or where you are going to put it "in" :D
